الموائع والحرارة 2 (Thermo-Fluid 2)

The Mechanical Engineering Department has a range of laboratories with cutting-edge technology. The fluid mechanics lab contains all new extensive experimental setups that suit to curricular needs and beyond. The fluid mechanics laboratory is designed to meet the needs of mechanical students. It improves and expands students' understanding of incompressible fluid mechanics. To give students hands-on experience with flows that are more complex, nonlinear, or unsteady than what they would learn in a lecture course. The laboratory is well-equipped with a variety of equipment and experimental setups for studying fluid mechanics' basics and applications. The setup includes devices such as a Venturimeter, Orificemeter, Rotameter, notches, a technique for estimating minor and major losses in pipes, obtaining a clear understanding on thermal conductivity of metals, analyzing free and forced convection on fins and flat surfaces and many more.

The main objective of the lab is to understand the behavior of fluids under various forces at different atmospheric conditions and to determine the various fluid flow parameters in pipes and open channels.
