In this lab, the students learn experimentally how to perform the various tests to evaluate the metallographic examinations of the material, especially the metals and alloys. The metallographic examination and hardness test need to specimen preparation operations. Moreover, they recognize the standard test specimens and methodology that followed in tests. The following machines and apparatus are performed for this propose.

1.     Precision Cutting Machine

2.     Automatic Grinding and polishing machine.

3.     Grinding machine (belts).

4.     Inverted microscope

5.     Hot Mounting Press

6.     Heat treatment furnace (1600 ℃).

7.     Vicker’s microhardness tester.

8.     Potentiostat/ Galvanostat

9.     Magnetic stirrer heater
