      • The committee promotes excellence in the mechanical engineering program. In fact, based on the interest of the university, college, and mechanical engineering program in supporting and organizing scientific research, this committee works to advance science in order to provide a research environment supportive of the program's goals. The committee also works to strengthen the scientific infrastructure in the department, which enhances the fields and scientific activities necessary to conduct the latest scientific research.

        The committee provides the department with expertise, information, and resources through the creation and use of education and training programs that meet the needs of scientific research.

        Responsibilities of the committee, supervisors and members

        The main responsibilities of the Scientific Research, Development, Training and Excellence Committee include, but are not limited to:

        1.Promote academic excellence in the department

        2.Encouraging the department's culture of scientific research

        3.With the ultimate goals of the mechanical engineering program in mind, to promote, support, and safeguard an environment for the advancement of scientific integrity and the quick diffusion of scientific advances, technology, and information.

        4.Establishing a venue for the department's faculty members to exchange information and organize working groups.

        5.encouraging the creation of tools for evaluating and keeping track of the department's environment for good science and scientific output, both qualitative and quantitative.

        6.Collaborating with the college's scientific research unit and the Deanship of Scientific Research

         

        Scientific Research Supervisor Responsibilities

        • Motivating faculty members to publish scientifically in prestigious journals.
        • Involve students in scientific research.
        • Developing the research strategy and plan and setting mechanisms for its implementation in the program.
        • Strengthening cooperation with national, regional and global research centers by conducting joint research and exchanging knowledge and experiences.
        • Establishing a database on scientific research, researchers, graduation projects and research extracted from graduation projects.
        • Working on developing and implementing a system for developing and measuring performance in the field of scientific and applied research.
        • Support and encourage faculty members and students to participate and actively attend in local and international scientific forums.
        • Preparing periodic reports on the scientific research activities in the program and submitting them to the head of the department.

         

        Training Supervisor Responsibilities

        • Consult on the most important skills to develop and the training you need, then decide on the best course of action.
        • Identify the program's training priorities based on its immediate and long-term needs.
        • Follow up on the implementation and make regular updates to the training plan.
        • Making suggestions for the Annual Training Report
        • Conduct a skills analysis to determine the staff and student skill development trainings.
        • Based on program goals, proposing workshops and trainings to improve the student's skills

         

        Development Excellence Supervisor Responsibilities

        • Discussing and interacting with employers on issues pertaining to skill development.
        • Based on stakeholder's proposals Providing input into a student's skills development
        • Implementation and the monitoring of the training plan by reviewing training committed and completed thus far
        • Meeting minutes that have been signed must be recorded.
        • Ensure that there is a clear road map to achieve academic excellence
        • Make sure that the department's overall development plan aligns with the strategic direction and requirements of the college
