Responsibilities of the Unit
- Develop a plan for academic advising at the college.
- Supervising the implementation of the academic advising
plan.
- Raising awareness among students about what the unit
is and its importance and how to benefit from its services
through meetings, publications and the college's website.
- Introducing students to the college's goals and mission, educational programs,
scientific departments, areas of work of its
graduates, and the care and services that the
college provides to its students, and they are informed and guided to choose
the appropriate specialties that suit their abilities and capabilities.
- Distribution of new students to academic supervisors
and publication of lists on the pages of faculty members
and students notification by official e-mail, at the beginning of each semester.
- Raising awareness of the importance of academic
advising and the importance of communicating with the academic advisor by
publishing brochures and publications and using the college's
website for this purpose.
- Study and report cases referred to the unit by the
college administration for submission to the jurisdictions.
- Consider the academic problems of students raised by
the academic advisors and devise solutions that suit them or
raise them to manage the college, if necessary.
- Supervising mentoring programs for new students to
introduce the college's
study and testing system.
- Periodically upload (each
semester) a report that includes the
work of the unit as well as a report on student levels to the college administration.
- The committee meets periodically every two weeks or
as a new work is done to discuss periodic or exceptional reports from academic
guides or transferred from the department.
